01 — The Short Version
Big Things started in Peoria in 2016 with one camera and a stubborn belief that small businesses in central Illinois deserved the same quality of work that agencies reserve for national brands. Ten years later that hasn't changed — the gear got better and the client list got longer, but it's still one person doing the work.
That's deliberate, not a limitation. Agencies hand your project down a chain: the person who pitched you isn't the person who shoots it, and neither of them is the person who cuts it. Things get lost at every handoff. Here, the person you talk to on the phone is the person holding the camera and the person in the timeline at midnight. Nothing gets lost because there's nowhere for it to go.
The work splits three ways. Big Things Media is video — brand films, commercials, documentary and social. Big Things Photo is stills — portrait, candid, food, automotive and golf. CineGolf is a golf content channel that grew out of a hobby and turned into a way for golf brands to reach players who don't want to be advertised to. Same eye behind all three.
03 — Questions I get
- Q Do you travel? Yes. Central Illinois is home; anywhere else is a line item, not a problem.
- Q HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? Most photo galleries land within a week. Video depends on scope — the scope document says exactly when.
- Q WHAT DOES IT COST? It depends on what you need, and I'd rather quote honestly than post a number that fits nobody. Tell me the project and you'll have a figure fast.
- Q CAN YOU HANDLE IT ALL? Video, photo, design, web and social under one roof — which is usually cheaper and always more consistent than splitting it across four vendors.
